Reality show star Kim Kardashian has opened up about the struggles of raising her young children; North, nine, Chicago, five, Saint, seven, and Psalm, four.

Months after finalising her divorce from Kanye West, the 42-year-old mother admitted: “There are nights I cry myself to sleep.

“Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn’t be like a more true statement,” she said.

“So, when you’re in it, I mean, especially when they’re babies and you’re feeding… There’s madness going on. It’s like full madness.”

However, Kim showed no signs of regret as she added: “It’s the best chaos though.”

The TV personality and businesswoman recently made an appearance on On Purpose with Jay Shetty to shed more light on her family life after her split from Kanye.

During the podcast, she shared her typical morning routine which now includes a workout to prepare herself for the chaos.

“It’s like I always have to do one of my daughter’s hair – and it has to be perfect and it has to be a certain way,” she told Jay.

“And then this one needs me to put his shoes on and they all need you… It’s like full crazy madness, cooking, running around. Like, it’s wild.”

Although she shares her four children with their father Kanye, Kim confirmed she is the “only one” there to instill a sense of discipline.

“You know, with all the moods and the personalities and sometimes they’re fighting, and you know, there’s no one there,” she continued.

“Like, it’s [just] me to play good police officer and bad cop.”

Despite the challenges, Kim still maintains parenting is the “most rewarding job”.

“There is nothing that can prepare you,” she said. “I don’t care how long you wait. I don’t care what you’re waiting for. You are never prepared.

“But, you will figure it out, and it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out and that you got through the day.”

Kim’s latest insight is just a sneak peek at much more to come as a third season of The Kardashians will be released on Disney+ this Thursday.

Her sisters Khloé and Kourtney and half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner will all be back on screens for the first outing since Kim’s tumultuous divorce.

The Kardashians season 3 premieres Thursday, May 25 on Disney+.
