Keeping Faith has been a gripping BBC drama, following the life of Faith Howells (played by Eve Myles) whose maternity leave was disrupted when her husband and business partner went missing. A lot has happened since the events of series one with season three almost wrapped up as well. As the finale looms, fans are wondering if there is still a future in Keeping Faith.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Keeping Faith.

Keeping Faith has focused on Faith’s complicated relationship with husband Evan (Bradley Freegard) from the very beginning.

Season three has continued this plot but this time, the pair are in the middle of finalising their divorce which has been taking its toll on their children.

To add more fuel to the fire, Faith’s mum Rose (Celia Imrie) is in town but it is unclear why her troublesome mother is there.

All is expected to be revealed in the season three finale which will air tonight, Saturday, May 1, on BBC One.

Will there be another series of Keeping Faith?

Unfortunately for fans, time is almost up for good as Keeping Faith comes to an end.

Season three will be the drama’s last ever series and so actress Myles will not be returning to reprise her role as Faith.

The show’s fate was revealed last year, prior to the third series originally premiering on Welsh channel S4C.

While Keeping Faith has continued to be a hit with fans, the end is in sight with just one more episode to go.

Speaking about the ending, co-creator Michael Hall said: “The third and last series sees Faith forced to draw on her deepest reserves of faith and love and her undying hunger for the truth as she takes on both the biggest case of her career – that of 14-year-old Osian, who is given up for dead by doctors who refuse to risk further treatment – while confronting the darkest secrets and lies of her past. Who really is Faith? Where does she come from?

“In a journey that veers between tragedy and hope, tears and laughter, Faith is tested to her limits as a mother, daughter, lover, wife, best friend and lawyer until her story erupts in an emotional and unexpected climax… and her final goodbye.”

Filming wrapped up for the final series in August last year in Laugharne, Wales.

To mark the momentous moment, actress Myles took to Twitter to share a picture of herself wearing Faith’s yellow rain mac.

In the caption, Myles wrote: “With a heavy heart I say goodbye Faith…..Thank you.”

There is one more episode left to go before fans will have to say farewell to Faith for good.

The synopsis for season three, episode six reads: “Rose’s revenge steps up a gear and sees Faith having to fight for all that’s dear to her.

“Does Rose have more guts than Faith gives her credit for?”

While fans in England have been waiting for quite some time for series three, viewers in Wales have already been treated to the show.

Originally entitled Un Bore Mercher, Keeping Faith is a Welsh production that reached its climax in December 2020.

Keeping Faith is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
