Inside Kate Silverton’s incredible family home with spotless bathroom and huge garden

KATE Silverton has given her fans a sneak peek inside her modern minimalist family home.

The BBC newsreader, 50, shares her sleek London abode with her husband and former Royal Marine Mike Heron and their two children; daughter Clemency, nine, and son Wilbur, six.

Taking to Instagram, Kate has showcased her taste for interiors in a number of posts.

The journalist has followed a minimalist theme in her home and painted her kitchen and dining room in a soft white, which complemented her white-stained wooden floors.

Continuing her muted colour theme, Kate decorated the space with grey pendant lighting, a Scandinavian-inspired six-seater dining table and four sleek black chairs.

The BBC star clearly has an eye for artwork and decorated the room with a framed turtle print alongside family photos.

The kitchen appears to be the heart of their home with a large white island in the midst of the space, big enough to entertain or in Kate's case film her TV interviews.

Her open plan room features floor to ceiling sliding doors which lead onto her garden and her children's playroom.

Kate continued her minimal theme into her living room which features contrasting textures of wood, a shaggy white rug, quirky art and a large TV to watch back her ballroom performances.

The star's bathroom could be likened to a spa with it's warm marble tiling, waterfall shower and atmospheric lighting.

Kate – who took part in the series 16 of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2018recently shocked fans with her incredible two-stone weight on The One Show.

The mum-of-two cracked down on her nutrition and exercise during the first lockdown last, vowing not to let the time at home be an excuse to put on weight.

She did a variety of different things to keep fit including a low impact workout performed on a mini trampoline, pilates and cycling.

Kate previously spoke about her weight fluctuating over the past year and said: "I was either going to put on two-and-a-half stone during lockdown or lose it, and I've lost it.

"It was a conscious decision and I knew I had to focus.

"I bought myself a racer bike, a trampoline and some Tracy Anderson DVDs and I got a good nutritionist. I have been eating at specific times and trying to get more sleep.

"I feel so much better in myself. I'm feeling as fit and well as I possibly can at this time of my life."
