I was on Love Island and producers MADE me talk to Gemma Owen about my famous dad, claims Jack Keating | The Sun

JACK Keating has revealed he was encouraged by Love Island producers to spark up a conversation with Gemma Owen about their famous dads on camera.

Ronan Keating's son, who appeared during the Casa Amor segment, claimed he was "surprised" when show bosses got him to repeat his chats with the daughter of footballer Michael Owen.

Speaking to MailOnline, the 23-year-old revealed: "I think the biggest, most surprising thing for me is just like how many times they have to build things.

"The producers will ask you again to sit down and have the same conversation again and bring up the same sort of things."

The reality star – whose mum is Irish model Yvonne Connolly – continued: "My chat with Gemma we were having about our dads, they asked us to go sit down and have the same chat about our dads."

When quizzed about reasons behind the request, he replied: "They just wanted to get some more footage pretty much, I'm not really sure.

"They were just like, 'Can you go sit down by the pool again and have a chat about your dads.'

"I was like, 'How are we gonna get this conversation back going again?' That was definitely the most surprising thing I think."

Last month, Jack revealed he regrets not trying to pursue a relationship with Gemma while on the show.

The Dublin-native said he would've tried to start something with the dressage rider, but for the fact that she was already coupled up with Luca Bish.

He added: "She’s a lovely girl but from chatting to her I could tell she and Luca were a closed door, so it was pretty tough.

"If she was single, I would have 100 per cent tried to pursue things. She’s a gorgeous girl and I think we got on very well.

Jack also revealed he had been in the "doghouse" with his famous dad, after saying on the show that the singer was retired.

Speaking on what Ronan had said to him once he got home, Jack said: "He just said that he was proud of me. I didn’t really go in there and make a fool out of myself thank God.

"I did say he was retired though at some stage during the show, so he was not happy about that."
