Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner says he’s single and ‘looking for love’ on Im A Celebrity

Hollyoaks star Owen Warner has said he'll be on the lookout for love as he appears on the new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! from Sunday.

The actor, 23, declared his single status ahead of his journey to camp and said he’s certainly opening to meeting someone special on the show.

Owen explained: “I don’t have a partner; I am always looking for love!”

He's also looking forward to fans getting the chance to know the real Owen, after his years as Hollyoaks' Romeo Nightingale.

“I am excited for people to get to know me as a person and not a character,” Owen said.

He continued: “People are so used to seeing me recite lines that have been written for me, and most of them are not what I would say myself.

"My character has been written out whilst I take part in the programme. He has gone to Spain for a little bit.”

Owen has already enjoyed a number of high-profile romances and previously dated his Hollyoaks co-star Stephanie Davis, as well as Geordie Shore's Chloe Ferry.

The actor still cannot believe he has joined I’m A Celebrity and has been pinching himself as the start date draws nearer.

“I still can’t believe I am actually going to be in Australia doing I’m a Celebrity,” Owen said.

“It’s not sunk in yet and it feels surreal. And now it is getting closer, I want to enjoy everything about it. I have told all my friends to vote for me because I will feel like I have wasted it if I don’t do the trials.

“The trials are part of the I’m A Celebrity experience. It’s great to be going to Australia, the OG format.”

Aside from hoping to find love, Owen would also like to make some great friends and not get into any arguments.

“Hopefully I won’t get wound up by everyone,” he said.

“If someone is out of order, then I will say something. But I don’t want it to cause any tension and hopefully they will stop. I don’t think I will cry either in the jungle but then again, I cry at most films and sometimes even new food!

“It’s going to be great to have a proper social detox in the camp too. I will enjoy having my phone completely taken away.”

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! starts on Sunday 6 November on ITV at 9pm.
