Here’s Where ‘Bridgerton’ Filmed All Its Sex Scenes (Oh, and the Other Scenes Too, I Guess)

New variant, who this? I’ll be making a great escape, in my mind if not physically, to places like this:

Although, preferably I’d like to be on the actual set of Netflix’s Bridgerton, which was filmed at an array of locations so very fancy that they make Downton Abbey look like my apartment (read: trash). Though some of the locations may well be the same as the ones in Downtown. Ever notice that like EVERY period piece is at the same house?

Bridgerton takes place mostly in London, but was filmed all over the UK, especially in Bath and York as well as the greater London area. Let’s get into some of the specific and stunning homes, starting with…

Bridgerton House

Welcome to Ranger’s House—a casually massive Georgian mansion that you can visit the next time you find yourself in London.

Stupidly beautiful, but please note that the inside of the Bridgerton family home was filmed at Halton House in Buckinghamshire, which is known for its *chef’s kiss* staircase:

One of the new locations in Season 2 is this building Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London.

Another is Windsor Great Park, where Anthony and Kate go riding. But in Season 1, Painshill Park in Cobham, Surrey was a favored location for flirty promenades.

The Race

Early on in Season 2, the Bridgerton family makes an appearance at a horse race. This was filmed at The Royal Country of Berkshire Polo Club.

Aubrey Hall

The Bridgerton ancestral home plays a key role in Season 2, as fans of the book (like myself) will eagerly tell you. It’s where the siblings grew up. It’s where they lost their father. It’s where they go hog wild playing pall mall.

The IRL country house that plays the role of Aubrey Hall is Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire. You may recognize it from Gosford Park, the Kingsman films, as well as Bridget Jones’ Diary.

Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens

While the Pleasure Gardens was a real location back in the day, Bridgerton recreated the romantic setting at Stowe House in Buckinghamshire.

This estate has been used in many other films and television series including X-Men: First Class, Vanity Fair, and The Crown.

Clyvedon Estate

You know that giant estate where Daphne and Simon go for their honeymoon? Turns out, it’s the IRL Castle Howard, which casually looks like this:

And they truly could not have been more thrilled about their “Great Temple” being used for Simon and Daphne to have sex in:

FYI, Clyvedon village (where Daphne unintentionally causes drama with some pigs) was filmed in the real-life village of Coneysthorpe.

Lady Danbury’s Estate

That’d be Holburne Museum in Bath, and they were also incredibly pumped for their building to be featured on the show!

Featherington House

While multiple homes were used for the interior shots, the exterior of the Featherington’s home is No. 1 Royal Crescent in Bath. I mean, I’d live here:

The Royal Palace

So, all those iconic scenes of the Queen sitting on her throne? They took place at Wilton House….

And here’s a fun, nerdy fact: Bridgerton just *happened* to use the exact same room that The Crown season 4 did:

The show also used the grounds for exterior shots like this one:

Meanwhile, the Palace’s exterior shots used Hampton Court Palace and Lancaster House.

The Inn

You know that inn Daphne and Simon visit and have wedding-night sex in? It’s Dorney Court, which actually hosts weddings, in case you’re in the mood for some ~nuptial night~ fun of your own!

Kay, that’s all, excuse me while I book my 2021 (or maybe more realistically…2022) travel plans.
