Exclusive: Get a First Look At Discovery+'s New Dating Show 'Naked and Afraid of Love'

Have you ever wondered what The Bachelor would be like if, instead of hanging out at the Bachelor mansion, everyone was actually in the wilderness fighting for survival? Or what Love Island would be like without all the bikinis and “going out tops?” You’re about to find out, because discovery+ is launching a dating show called Naked and Afraid of Love, which is… exactly what it sounds like.

Based on the already popular survival franchise Naked and Afraid, this show will put 16 singles together in a remote location where they’ll have to survive while also looking for their soulmates. They will, obviously, be naked. If you’re also thinking to yourself, “Wait, is this real?” here’s the official description of the show from Discovery:

Today, dating has become filtered – through the clothes we wear, jobs we have, and lives we share on social media. But what if it was all stripped away — the filters, dating apps and curated personas — leaving room for only our most primal wants and needs, and exposing who we really are in the process? Would we forge stronger connections? Discovery seeks to answer these questions and more in “Naked and Afraid of Love,” a groundbreaking take on modern dating that is the ultimate blend of survival and romance unlike anything viewers have seen. By stripping it all away — beginning with the clothes — “Naked and Afraid of Love” sets out to uncover what happens when 16 complete strangers — 8 single women and 8 single men — attempt to find true love while working together to survive the elements and each other on an unforgettable island paradise.

Still in disbelief? Fair! Thankfully for you, we have an exclusive first look at the show. Please enjoy this clip of contestants Bennett Murphy, Candice Liang, Britt Whitmire trying to navigate a very tricky situation that has nothing to do with the natural elements.

The show premieres on August 22, so mark your calendars right this minute and subscribe to discovery+ to see it for yourself:
