Emotional Sir Elton John pays tribute to George Michael ahead of late star's 59th birthday | The Sun

SIR Elton John paid an emotional tribute to the late George Michael in front of 65,000 fans at Hyde Park last night.

The 75-year-old told the"I love you and I miss you" as he performed at American Express presents BST Hyde Park.

Superstar singer Elton dedicated the pair's chart-topping duet version of Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me to his close friend, the day before what would have been his 59th birthday.

George was found dead at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, on Christmas Day, 2016. A coroner later recorded a death of natural causes relating to heart and liver disease.

Elton's stand-out moment on stage had fans in tears as they sang to the famous track recorded by the music legends back in 1991.

It was part of his run of impressive hits from Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer to Crocodile Rock and I'm Still Standing.
