Emmerdale star Denise Black has told fans that she is proud of her body, and shared an empowering picture.
Denise, who played Joanie Wright from 2013 to 2017 in the ITV soap, posted a naked snap on social media, explaining to her followers that she loves her body after spending years of ‘finding fault’.
‘I have decided to post this,’ she wrote on Instagram.
‘I am very proud of my body at 63 – and this after a wasted lifetime of finding fault. Life’s too short (not me, LIFE).
‘Enjoy it all! Even the pain. All of it.’
Many of Denise’s followers commented on her post, praising her for sharing such a positive message about body confidence.
It’s a Sin writer Russell T Davies, who worked with Denise on Queer as Folk, wrote ‘Wonderful xx!’, while another follower added ‘Incredible and fabulous, quite right to be proud!! x’.
In Emmerdale, Denise’s character Joanie died in 2017 after suffering cardiac arrest.
She was arrested following the breakdown of her marriage to Zak Dingle, and when she returned from prison, she went into cardiac arrest after learning Lisa and Zak had got back together.

She has also featured in Casualty, Bad Girls and Benidorm.
