EASTENDERS favourite Maisie Smith has been caught on camera smoking a spliff at the wheel of her car before driving off.
The 19-year-old star, who plays Tiffany Butcher in Albert Square, pulled on to wasteland to puff away on a “strong smelling” rolled-up cigarette while behind the wheel.
But after finishing, she quickly drove off as a police car pulled into the area — a former waste tip.
Driving under the influence of cannabis can result in a minimum one-year driving ban, an unlimited fine and up to six months in prison.
Exclusive photographs show Maisie, who joined the BBC soap in 2008 as a child star, smoking while chatting to a female pal.
An eyewitness said a strong smell seeped from the open window as the pair spent 40 minutes parked up after arriving at 3.50pm on Sunday.
After initially stopping, the duo chatted for around 15 minutes, before moving the white VW golf to a more secluded corner.
They spent another seven minutes rolling the cigarette before smoking it — until a police car arrived at 4.30pm.
Moments later, Maisie drove away from the area on Two Tree Island, Essex — followed by cops.
An onlooker said: “Locals know this area as a spot for people having a smoke.
"She had the window open and the smell was really strong. I couldn’t believe she was doing it while driving.”
Maisie lives in nearby Westcliff-on-Sea with her parents and sister Scarlett.
EastEnders did not comment.
