EastEnders, Corrie and Emmerdale schedule shake-up explained amid major changes

EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale fans need to prepare for a big schedule shake-up coming this week.

There will be disruption to all three of the nation's favourite soaps across the week, which may leave some fans feeling a bit confused.

As per usual, to the annoyance of lots of soap fans, it's international football causing changes to the schedule at the start of the week.

But there is also a reshuffle at the end of the week to stop two rival soaps going head to head in competition.

Here are all the schedule changes you need to be aware of this week:

Emmerdale

There is some disappointing news for Emmerdale fans – as the Yorkshire-based soap will be taken off air completely on Tuesday.

There are usual six episodes of Emmerdale every week, with viewers actually being treated to seven over the last few months.

However, Tuesday's helping is being replaced by England taking on Kosovo in an important Euro 2020 qualifier.

This means there will only be five episodes from the Yorkshire village that week – and that's not the only big change of the week.

Coronation Street

Coronation Street is shaking things up by airing a special hour-long episode on Friday.

The Weatherfield-based soap usually airs two separate episodes across the night with a half hour break in the middle.

It will start on ITV at 7.30pm as usual, but will go straight through for the whole hour until 8.30pm.

EastEnders

The Corrie changes have big implications for EastEnders – as bosses obviously don't want a clash between the two rival soaps.

This means that EastEnders will be pushed back to the slightly later time of 8.30pm on Friday.

The good news is that fans of both programmes can watch them airing live.

EastEnders fans will be desperate to know whether Ben Mitchell is going to survive after being shot by Hunter Owen.

Ben was left fighting for his life after that dramatic Queen Vic hostage situation last week.

Will you be tuning in to the football or the soaps?
