Dr Al Haskey (Ian Midlane) finds out that every new role comes with challenges and while Sutton Vale might be quieter than The Mill, it isn’t without a share of the dramas.
Next week, having settled into life at Sutton Vale, Al is set for a cushy morning running the place.
However, he is dealt one problem after another and it soon piles up on him. Al’s mum Eve (Rachel Bell) goes missing and with her dementia symptoms taking hold, she is vulnerable and can’t work out where she is.
Sutton Vale’s staff are not helping Al’s mood when the locum walks out and receptionist Rosie (Janice Connolly) is proving fragile.
Meanwhile, Emma Reid (Dido Miles) is still needing help after her recent drunken fall but is left disappointed when her son can’t come and look after her.
This leaves Zara Carmichael (Elizabeth Dermot Walsh) with only one course of action and she leaves Emma a bell to ring when needing Valerie’s help.
Unfortunately, while Valerie is well meaning she is proving to be increasingly suffocating to poor Emma.
Doctors airs these scenes Wednesday March 23 at 1:45pm on BBC One then 7pm on BBC Two.
