Nina (played by Mollie Gallagher) has been enjoying a romance with Coronation Street teenager Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) of late. Whilst the latter has been desperate to make things official between the pair, Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) niece has been a bit more reserved and has wanted to take things slow. However, when her actions come into question during next week’s episodes of the ITV soap, it seems Aadi (Adam Hussain) will discover the reason the café worker has been avoiding his twin sister.
The action kicks off when Nina tells Asha she is going to go bird watching with Roy, something the pair enjoy doing together.
Keen to spend time with her love interest, Aadi’s sister says she will tag along, but the café worker thinks the teenager will find it boring.
Worried about what this means, the youngster confides in Amy McDonald (Elle Mulvaney) that Nina is going off her already.
Noticing how upset her girlfriend has become, Roy’s niece tells her they should be able to pursue their own interests independently if their romance is going to work.
Having taken this as a good sign, the schoolgirl then sets abut organising a surprise birthday party for her father, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin).
However, Asha is left disappointed as when she invites Nina along to the party, the café worker says she can’t make it.
It’s not long before Aadi is on the case as he discovers Roy’s niece lied and offered to mind the café for her uncle.
Confronting his sister’s love interest, the protective brother demands to know why the schoolgirl was lied to.
Finally revealing why she didn’t want to go to the birthday party, the youngster admits she felt it was too soon to attend a party as Asha’s girlfriend.
There’ll be a fantastic and unique love story
Nina admits she never wanted to hurt the teenager’s feelings and so Aadi tells her the invite still stands if she changes her mind.
When Asha’s brother turns up at the party, he’s not alone as Roy’s niece is in tow, delighting her love interest.
Though, the pressure of the situation mounts when Dev makes a speech and officially welcomes Nina into the family.
This leaves the café worker feeling really uncomfortable and seeks advice from her uncle about how to approach the matter with her girlfriend.

Roy tells his niece to have an honest chat with her love interest and tell her how she really feels about their chemistry.
However, the gothic character is left floored when Asha admits she has fallen in love with her.
Viewers will have to wait and see if Nina is able to accept when the teenager is telling her or if this will be the end of the road for the young lovers.
Executive producer Iain Macleod teased this storyline would have several heartbreaking twists as Nina feels the pressure of being a member of the Weatherfield community.
The soap boss told Express.co.uk and other publications: “I think [Nina] and Mollie [Gallagher] are great and she is unlike any other character that I can think of on a soap.
“There’ll be a fantastic and unique love story for her that might not entirely end up where you might expect now.
“I think if you were to pop down the bookies and put a bet on how you think her love story might play out, it probably won’t be like we’re going to do it and I hope it will be pleasantly surprising in the long run.
“The love story will turn into a kind of massive social issue story that deals with things like the kind of tolerance of people that are part of minority communities and that they don’t look like everybody else and it’ll become a real talking point.”
Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on ITV.
