Channel 4 viewers couldn't stop blushing after they tuned in to watch Open House: The Great Sex Experiment.

The racy new show sees couples try out their wildest sexual fantasies on screen, with the broadcaster branding it the "most shocking show ever".

In six episodes, curious couples try out polyamorous experiences at a luxurious stately home with an intimacy therapist on hand to keep them safe – Dr Lori Beth.

The first episode aired on Friday night (April 1), but viewers perhaps weren't prepared for how explicit the show's sex scenes were.

In fact, within minutes of the show starting, nude couples were getting down to business under the sheets and moaning with pleasure in the bedroom.

Red-faced fans rushed to comment on the show on Twitter, with some comparing it to ITV's hit villa dating show, Love Island.

One wrote: OMG THEY'RE GOING TO SHOW ALL OF THE SEX #OPENHouse"

A second said: "It's like a post watershed Love Island" as they attached a laughing-emoji.

They added: "I've got a feeling this is going to be a very interesting hour #OpenHouse"

A third quipped: "Went to get a cuppa after gogglebox and came back to porn"

A fourth agreed: "This looks like it's going to be pure madness #OpenHouse".

The episode involved couples trying threesomes, but conflicted couple Nathan and Mady from Swansea found the experience difficult to process.

Nathan had high hopes, saying: "It's going to be so good, more women, more pleasure." But he did not enjoy the experience.

He felt left out and like a "spare part" and when Nathan did not want to get involved, Mady said to Precious: "It is a shame we can't go off and leave him to sleep."

Nathan told Mady: "You've made my first experience a bad one. You purposely made me feel like a spare part. Your biggest fear about being the odd one out, you've put that on to me."

It caused Mady to leave the bedroom crying, and the next morning things were still very tense between the couple, with Mady in tears again as Nathan told her he didn't know if the relationship was right for him anymore.

After speaking to Dr Lori, the relationships expert at the experiment, both agreed to talk more openly about their feelings and make sure that everyone feels involved.

Mady said: "I feel so bad, we were so focussed on my jealousy, how I was going to think, we didn't really take the time to think about how you would feel."

They decided to give trying having a threesome another go and invited another girl Grace to join them for the night. This time with more communication the threesome was a success and Nathan and Mady left the resort feeling ready to open up their relationship.
