Louise Minchin and Dan Walker hosted BBC Breakfast on Monday morning and discussed the multiple sporting events taking place in the coming days. The pair chatted all about England’s recent success at the Euros as well as the impressive Wimbledon performance from Emma Raducanu. But, Dan couldn’t help but tease his co-star Carol Kirkwood by suggesting the meteorologist could be replaced by an iconic sports star since he was on the show more than her in recent days.

Joking about the numerous sporting events taking place this week, Dan remarked: “I need a diary to work out when to watch.”

Louise agreed: “What time? Who’s on where?”

“We might need to get Alan Shearer to do the weather because he’s on more than Carol at the moment,” Dan joked.

The presenter was referencing the fact that the former footballer Alan had made numerous BBC Breakfast appearances recently to discuss England’s performance at the Euros.

Laughing at Dan’s suggestion, Carol replied: “Good morning. That would be nice I can have a long lie in!”

More to come…
