On Monday morning's BBC Breakfast, things became rather awkward quite quickly after presenter Dan Walker couldn't seem to get a straightforward answer from the Minister of State for Social Care.
Helen Whately appeared on the breakfast programme to discuss the governments plans going forward and the proposed upcoming Freedom Day.
But when Dan pressed on with his questions regarding mask wearing and Helen's thoughts on this, she couldn't seem to give a straightforward answer, which caused him to have an exasperated chuckle at her expense.
Laughing, Dan said to Helen: "I know we speak to minsters in government most days on this programme but sometimes, I think our viewers would appreciate, sometimes having a straightforward answer to a straight forward question."
Viewers on Twitter also noticed Helen's inability to answer Dan's question and took to the social media platform to air their thoughts.
One viewer said: "Utterly pointless interviewing Helen Whately this morning, she never says anything."
Another chimed: "Oh dear. Helen Whately demonstrating yet again why she shouldn’t be speaking to the media."
"Dan Walker laughing at Helen Whately shows you just how laughable she is a a minister for care She can’t even say whether she will continue wearing face masks if it’s down to personal choice Boris Johnson appointed well," a third penned.
While a fourth wrote: "Surely Helen Whatley has some sort of opinion or is she muted."
Elsewhere in the interview Dan also asked Helen her thoughts regarding universal credit and the £20 uplift that was previously introduced being a permanent measure.
Dan asked Helen whether she supported this and her overall stance on universal credit.
