Antiques Roadshow host Fiona Bruce, 55, was set to join the team at Newcastle’s Cvici Centre for the next instalment of the BBC programme.
Instead, Countryfile aired its place as the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final overran, with coverage wrapping at 7.30pm.
The tennis match was then followed by the news segment, meaning the pre-planned schedule had to be changed at the last minute.
Although it could have been all shows were pushed back by an hour tonight, the highly anticipated return of the fifth and final season of Poldark meant Antiques Roadshow was removed from the schedule altogether.
