American Horror Story’s Sarah Paulson desperate to direct and star in new spin-off series – The Sun

AMERICAN Horror Story star Sarah Paulson says she “hopes to direct” and star in the new spin-off series.

The actress revealed she and producer Ryan Murphy have been having “conversations” after he revealed he’s working on an episodic anthology of the FX series.

Sarah told The Hollywood Reporter: "I can't say anything about it except for that I hope to be directing the new [series].

"I hope that will in fact come to fruition. Not with anything official, but in fun, playful conversations with the man, that has been floated about. So hopefully!"

She continued: "You have to say it like that. You have to use the words I'm using, 'Floated about, nothing official, but conversations, fun conversations I've had with him that might full well turn out to be nothing.'"

Sarah said she’d love to gain more experience as a director.

She said: "I would really like to have another opportunity to be in that world that obviously, having been in for so many years, I feel about as comfortable as one could feel trying my hand at that.

"I would like to do more of it, but I would also like to have more experience doing it."

The star wouldn’t mind a part in the spin-off, either.

She added: "Of course I want to be in it, too. There's no American Horror Story spinoff, movie, play, projection from space that I would not want to be a part of if I could be."

Ryan Murphy announced that a terrifying spin-off series of stand-alone episodes was in development earlier this month.

He wrote on Instagram: “‘American Horror Story’ cast zoom call…where we reminisced about the good times…the spin off we're doing called "American Horror Stories" (one hour contained episodes)…when we will start filming the next season of the mothership…and other stuff I cannot print.”

American Horror Story airs on FX in the US and on FOX and NOW TV in the UK. Catch up on series 1-8 on Netflix, with seasons 1-9 available to buy on Amazon Prime Video.
