'Bombshell:' Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman's Fox News Movie Gets Title and Trailer

Lionsgate’s movie about downfall of Roger Ailes is directed by Jay Roach

The Fox News movie about the downfall of Roger Ailes has a first look teaser and a new title, officially called “Bombshell.”

Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie star in the film as Megyn Kelly, Gretchen Carlson and Kayla Pospisil (a fictional news producer) in the film directed by Jay Roach and written by “The Big Short” writer Charles Randolph.

The film will tell the story of the Fox News sexual harassment scandal from the point of view of the women who took on the toxic male culture of Fox News, ultimately leading to Ailes’ downfall.

Ailes resigned from Fox News in 2016 after Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit that resulted in multiple women coming forward with similar claims. At the time, Ailes was considered the mastermind behind the success of Fox News and one of the most powerful men in both media and American politics.

“Bombshell,” which also stars Kate McKinnon, Stephen Root, Connie Britton and Allison Janney, with John Lithgow as Roger Ailes and Malcolm McDowell as Rupert Murdoch, opens in theaters from Lionsgate in December.

Roach, Randolph, Beth Kono, Aaron L. Gilbert, A.J. Dix and Margaret Riley are producing. Theron is co-producing, while Jason Cloth and Ashley Levinson are executive-producing. Bron Studios is also producing and co-financing.

Take a look at the first teaser above, which features the three stars quietly and anxiously riding an elevator down to the second floor of the Fox News Channel as they’re about to drop their bombshell accusation.

17 Times Fox News Hosts Criticized Donald Trump, From Charlottesville to Helsinki (Photos)

  • It’s been known for a long time that Donald Trump is a fan of Fox News. And, in turn, the conservative network is a fan of his, often running positive stories about the administration that Trump then uses to fuel his Twitter feed. But Fox News isn’t always on board the Trump Train. Here are 17 times Fox News gave Trump the business.

  • Megyn Kelly calls Trump out on women
Trump famously feuded former anchor Kelly after she asked him a tough question at a Republican primary debate about derogatory statements he’s made about women. Trump took it personally, judging by his response on Twitter and in interviews. He later famously said Kelly must have had “blood coming out of her wherever” regarding the question. Watch the debate question here.

    Fox News

  • Kelly to Trump: “Facts matter”
Trump kept hammering at Kelly on Twitter and elsewhere. When he called her out for not using the IBT poll when he was leading the Republican primary field, Kelly rebuked him with a tweet showing she did use the poll. “Facts matter,” she wrote.

  • Fox mocks Trump with statement on debate skipping poll
After polled his Twitter followers to see if he should drop out of a Fox-hosted Republican primary debate, Fox responded artfully with a sarcastic statement that it had learned from “secret” sources Trump might be treated unfairly as president by foreign leaders.

  • Bill O’Reilly calls out Trump’s tweet with totally wrong stats
“The O’Reilly Factor” grilled Trump in a Nov. 2015 interview about his tweet that erroneously said black people killed whites at a rate of 81 percent, while whites kill blacks at a rate of 15 percent. O’Reilly told Trump, “You shouldn’t tweet.” Trump did not take that advice.

    Fox News

  • Shepard Smith backs CNN on Russia reporting
Anchor Shep Smith was on Team CNN after Trump’s January press conference, in which he refused to take a question from CNN’s Jim Acosta, saying, “You’re fake news.” Smith said, “neither they (CNN) nor any other journalists should be subjected to belittling or delegitimizing by the president-elect of the United States.” Watch it here.

    Fox News

  • Chris Wallace bucks Trump calling media “enemy of the public”
After his press conference in January 2017, Trump continued his attack on media he doesn’t like on Twitter. Anchor Chris Wallace wasn’t having it on “Fox & Friends.” Wallace said Trump’s comments “crossed an important line” and said they were dangerous.

    Fox News

  • Smith calls Trump out on terrorism lie
Smith isn’t a fan of Trump’s false assertions. When Trump said the media “doesn’t want to report” terrorist attacks, Smith took him to task. “The White House knows that it was false or could have learned that it was false with a quick Google check, but either did not do so or decided not to tell the truth.” Watch it here.

    Fox News

  • Wallace says the media is too easy on Trump
In an interview with TheWrap, Wallace said he thinks Sunday political shows in particular should be tougher on Trump. “I think if anything, the media has treated him too well. By that I mean they’ve allowed him to play by different rules.” Read the full interview.

    Fox News

  • O’Reilly tells Trump Putin is “a killer”
In a February interview, O’Reilly brought up Trump’s apparent refusal to criticize Vladimir Putin, calling the Russian president “a killer.” Trump famously responded by saying, “What, you think our country is so innocent?” Watch it here.

    Fox News

  • Smith wails on Trump’s refusal to talk about Russia hacks
Nobody on Fox hits Trump harder than Shep Smith. “We have a right to know… You call us ‘fake news’ and put us down like children for asking questions on behalf of the American people.” Watch it here.

    Fox News

  • Smith backs CNN and rebukes Trump’s ‘fake news’ assertion
Trump’s favorite insult against media he doesn’t like is to call it “fake news.” But Shep Smith again supported CNN against the president after Trump’s anti-media speech to the Conservative Political Action Committee. Watch it here.

    Fox News

  • Neil Cavuto tells Trump he’s the problem, not mainstream media
Responding to Trump’s tweet claiming the mainstream media wants him off social media, Cavuto called out Trump for losing track of his own agenda. “Mr. President, it is not the fake news media that’s your problem, it’s you,” Cavuto said. Watch it here.

    Fox News

  • Smith blasts Trump administration on Russia: “Lie after lie after lie”
Shep Smith was at it again following the news breaking about Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Kremlin-linked lawyer. He took the Trump administration to task for its many lies about meetings with Russia, including Jared Kushner failing to report the meeting on his security clearance forms. “My grandmother used to say, ‘What a tangled web we weave when first we try to deceive,'” Smith declared on air, leaving fellow anchor Chris Wallace speechless. Watch it here.

  • Eboni K. Williams slams Trump’s remarks about Charlottesville

Following the Unite the Right rally in which a counter-protester was murdered, Trump blamed “both sides” for the violence. On “Fox News Specialists,” host Eboni K. Williams took Trump to task for not standing up to white nationalists and white supremacists who support him, calling his initial remarks about the rally “cowardly and dangerous.”

    Fox News

  • Brian Kilmeade calls Trump tweet “ridiculous” blaming U.S. for Russia relations

In a rare sight in the lead up to the summit in Helsinki between Trump and Putin, Trump tweeted, “Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!” On “Fox and Friends,” a show that has been extremely favorable to Trump (he even calls in), host Brian Kilmeade said of the tweet, “That’s by far the most ridiculous tweet of late, and that is insulting to past administrations. He can’t be saying that going into the Russian summit.” Watch the clip here.

    Fox News

  • Cavuto blasts Trump’s performance in Helsinki: “disgusting”

Neil Cavuto took Trump to task more than once after his Helsinki press conference with Putin. When former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Tom Dupree said Trump could have rebuked Putin for his Russia’s attack on U.S. elections, Cavuto said, “But he didn’t and that’s what made it disgusting. That’s what made his performance disgusting. I’m sorry, it’s just the only way I feel. It’s not a right or left thing for me, it’s just wrong.” Watch it here.

    Fox News

  • Trish Regan says Trump “should have defended us” against Putin

Fox Business host Trish Regan got mad about Trump’s performance on her show “The Intelligence Report.” “He should have defended us,” she said.
“He should have defended his own intelligence community. Or just don’t take the meeting! Don’t go to Helsinki if you can’t look the guy in the eye and tell him what’s what!” Watch it here.

    Fox News

Donald Trump’s favorite network, Fox News, isn’t always rosy on what he says and does, especially when he backs Russia over the U.S. intelligence community

It’s been known for a long time that Donald Trump is a fan of Fox News. And, in turn, the conservative network is a fan of his, often running positive stories about the administration that Trump then uses to fuel his Twitter feed. Florida Man Arrested After Botched Castration of Man He Met On Eunuch Fetish Site

“This one is a little… let’s just say sensitive,” the Sheriff’s department said. “You could even say it’s kinda nuts.”

A Florida Man has been arrested after allegedly botching an illegal castration.

Gary Van Ryswyk, 74, told police he met the "patient" on a fetish website for eunuchs.

Shortly before midnight on Sunday, a deputy checked on an address that made a 911 call but hung up.

"These are pretty routine and deputies respond to many of them per shift," the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. "But most of them don’t make the cut when it comes to being memorable. This one will definitely hang around in the memory for a while."

The door was answered by Ryswyk, who told the deputy he had just performed a castration on a man and, "to say the least, Van Ryswyk had dropped the ball on this one," the statement continued.

Inside deputies found the man on the bed with a towel over his groin, which was bleeding heavily.

His testicles were in a jar beside the bed; or as police described it "there was a pink container which held two body parts that had recently been much closer to the victim."

He was taken to the hospital and was later flown to a regional medical center, where he was listed as in stable condition.

Police found another room set up like a surgical center with medical equipment and painkillers. There was also a camera set up to record the procedure.

Van Ryswyk told deputies he had met the victim on a website on the dark web called eunuch.com ("click that link at your own risk", the sheriffs advised) which is for people who have a castration fetish. He told the victim that he had experience on animals and had even removed one of his own testicles in 2012.

He reportedly told deputies that he had tried to perform the procedure on the victim a week earlier, but when he tried to sanitize the area the man had become aroused and ejaculated (or as the Facebook post describes "something came up") so the procedure had to be delayed.

He said he began the procedure at about 10pm on Sunday night, but the victim’s uncontrollable bleeding made it difficult for him to suture the wound closed.

"He also said he had done a similar procedure on a man in a local motel a few years ago that turned out pretty much like this one, but couldn’t remember the other man’s name," The Sheriff’s department said. "The man went to the hospital, but law enforcement was not notified."

Van Ryswyk was arrested Monday and charged with practicing medicine without a license resulting in bodily injury, a second-degree felony. His bond was set at $250,000.

"This one is a little… let’s just say sensitive," the Sheriff’s department added. "You could even say it’s kinda nuts."

‘El Cachudo’ Corey denies Evelin cheated, begs 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way viewers ‘don’t be so hard on her’

On the latest episode of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Corey learned a few things about Evelin that would make any man upset. After hanging out with his friend, he learned that Evelin had a fling with him and that the whole town refers to Corey as El Cachudo because of things Evelin does when he’s not around.

For those who may have missed it, El Cachuda means “horned one” in Spanish and is a nickname that the locals call Corey because of Evelin’s apparent cheating.

When Raul reveals to Corey that he’s messed around with Evelin and that he’s not the only one, he also tells the 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way star that the locals all know what she’s been up to and because of it, they call Corey “El Cachudo” behind his back.

The latest reveal about Evelin had fans of the TLC series reeling. They hated Evelin even more than before for cheating on Corey, who has become a 90 Day fan favorite and someone that viewers feel sorry for.

However, that’s not how Corey sees it, and he wants to set the record straight. Like many other reality stars who feel they have been portrayed unfairly, he took to Instagram to explain what happened and how everything played out in real life.

“Evelin is beautiful in every aspect! Shes the most loving, caring and wonderful person! I have never loved someone more,” Corey wrote on Instagram “I hope one day people do meet her in person so you can see exactly what I mean. Shes the most awesome individual. It’s sad shes has to deal with all of this negativity.”

The storyline that Corey and Evelin have been dealt on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way is causing them stress, and he wants everyone to know not only that but that much of what we’re seeing is years old now.

“It’s wearing us both down and hurting both of us very much. People please understand she is a person too,” Corey continued. “Don’t be so hard on her. I do want to address the episode. We were on a break during the argument. She did not cheat on me. I felt that way at the time, but Evelin never did anything wrong. It was my fault for bringing up the past. It should have not been brought up on national TV. We have moved long past that. It happened more than 2 years ago. I made the huge mistake. I broke a promise to her and made her look terrible.”

Corey even took the opportunity to apologize to Evelin for putting her in a position where everyone watching would be angry.

“I’m so sorry @evelin_ecuador I will always love and care for you forever, no matter what happens in our lives,” Corey said in the conclusion of the post. “Also, if you post any negative comments from here on out you will be blocked. Please respect or don’t say anything at all. You have been warned thanks.”

Comments on the Instagram post have been turned off. Clearly, Corey and Evelin are upset after the last episode aired. It did not show Evelin in a good light and made Corey look pretty foolish too.

Lori Loughlin Would Take Jail Time At This Point Because She’s Been ‘In Her Own Prison’ Ami

If Lori Loughlin only knew then what she knows now!

The Fuller House star has spent the past few months being scrutinized by the world over her alleged participation in the college admissions bribery scandal and her apparent resentment at the consequences she’s facing from it.

Well, a legal source now claims the 56-year-old isn’t as indignant as other sources have made her out to be. She’s mostly “embarrassed and hurt,” according to the insider, and just a wee bit pissed no one told her (allegedly) sending money to a shady admissions “consultant” was a bad idea!

The source explained to People:

“Lori is remorseful, and she has definite regrets. She’s embarrassed and hurt, and she knows that her reputation has been ruined for life. But she also believes the allegations against her aren’t true.”

Expanding on that last part, the insider continued:

“She honestly didn’t think what she was doing was any different than donating money for a library or athletic field. That’s the crux of why she pleaded not guilty.”

At least that’s the defense Loughlin, husband Mossimo Giannulli, and their legal council have apparently been cooking up — which is kinda hard to believe, seeing as William “Rick” Singer, the admissions consultant they were accused of paying $500,000 to, had allegedly asked his clients to send in pics of their kids so he could photoshop them onto stock images of athletes to help them fraudulently get recruiting slots on teams at elite schools.

During a press conference back in March, Massachusetts US Attorney Andrew Lelling said of Singer:

“In many instances, Singer helped parents take staged photographs of their children engaged in particular sports. Other times, he used stock photos, sometimes Photoshopping the face of the child on the athlete, and submitting it.”

You know, just like Singer was accused of doing with Loughlin’s daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, to help them get into USC. But, hey, maybe Lori thought that’s what all the parents donating money for a library or athletic field do these days?

The legal source went on to reveal while Loughlin and Giannulli “weren’t ready to accept” the plea deal 14 defendants, including actress Felicity Huffman, agreed to in April because it would have resulted in prison time, the couple apparently wouldn’t even mind prison at this point — because these last few months have just been that awful!

The insider noted:

“Lori is ready for this to be over. They all are. At this point, it would be better to spend a few months in jail — because she’s been spending the last several months in her own prison.”

Well, let’s get this show on the road then!

Loughlin and Giannulli are due back in court on August 27.

Denmark's Prime Minister Is, Like You, Surprised Trump Canceled A Visit Because She Won't Sell Greenland To Him

Denmark’s Prime Minister has expressed “regret and surprise” at Donald Trump’s decision to cancel a planned state visit next month after she firmly rejected the US president’s wish to buy Greenland.

Speaking in Copenhagen, Mette Frederiksen reiterated once more that Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark, was not for sale.

“I had been looking forward to the visit and preparations were well underway,” Frederiksen told journalists in a statement delivered in Danish and English. “It was an opportunity to celebrate Denmark’s close relationship to the US, which remains one of Denmark’s closest allies.”

She added, “This does not change the character of our good relations [with the US], and we will of course from Denmark continue our ongoing dialogue with the US on how we can develop our cooperation and deal with the many common challenges we are facing.”

Trump had stunned Denmark late Tuesday by abruptly postponing next month’s state visit, explicitly tying it to Frederiksen’s comments about his proposed purchase of Greenland.

Only hours earlier, the American ambassador, Carla Sands, tweeted excitedly about the president’s upcoming visit.

But on Wednesday she was in damage control mode.

Trump and the First Lady had been invited by Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II. Denmark’s state broadcaster quoted a royal spokesperson as saying Trump’s announcement, “came as a surprise.”

“That’s all we have to say about that,” the spokesperson added.

Former Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt was more direct. “Is this some sort of joke?” she wrote on Twitter after Trump canceled the state visit.

The Wall Street Journal first reported last week that Trump had raised the possibility of buying Greenland, and he confirmed Sunday that such a purchase had been discussed because of the island’s strategic location and natural resources.

“Essentially, it’s a large real estate deal. A lot of things can be done,” Trump said. “It’s hurting Denmark very badly, because they’re losing almost $700 million a year carrying it. So they carry it at a great loss.”

He later tweeted a meme of a Trump Tower-style skyscraper in a settlement in Greenland.

But any such sale was firmly ruled out by Denmark and Greenland, which is self-governing in all respects apart from foreign policy and defense.

Speaking in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, on Sunday, Frederiksen said the sale of Greenland was not even up for discussion, pointing out, for one thing, that Greenland belongs to Greenland, not Denmark.

“Thankfully, the time where you buy and sell other countries and populations is over,” she told a TV reporter. “Let’s leave it there.”

Zayn Malik Bought an Apartment to Be Close to Gigi Hadid Before Tyler Romance

Moving on. Zayn Malik bought an apartment in NYC to be close to Gigi Hadid, which he’s now selling after her romance with Tyler Cameron, an insider reveals to Us Weekly

According to the source, the “Pillowtalk” singer, 26, purchased the $10 million penthouse “less than 10 months ago” to be near his model girlfriend, 24, before their breakup in January. Now that Hadid is dating the Bachelorette star, Malik has listed the four-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment, which he “never fully” moved into.

“He has been sad about their breakup and was very sad after their breakup,” the source said.

The insider continued, “Everyone around Gigi is very supportive of her moving on. It was not a good move for Gigi and Zayn to be around each other. It wasn’t a healthy situation for her.”

The source also added that Hadid is “doing a lot better” since she started dating Cameron, 26, in early August after the two followed each other on Instagram the month before.

“She’s really into Tyler,” the insider said.

The couple’s first date was on August 4, when they were spotted chatting at Brooklyn’s Dumbo House. The hangout happened a few days after Cameron slept over at former Bachelorette Hannah Brown’s home in Los Angeles. On the season 15 finale of The Bachelorette, Brown asked out the Florida native for drinks after she broke off her engagement with winner Jed Wyatt. Cameron was the runner-up on Brown’s season.

Before their split in January, Hadid and Malik broke up once before in March 2018 after two years of dating. They announced the news in joint statements on social media.

“Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend,” Malik wrote on Twitter at the time. “She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time, we wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all. xZ.”

Green Guide letters: TV viewers have their say

Alan Kohler’s DIY graph on his finance report.

Personal touch

Was Alan Kohler’s graph too late for Aunty’s graphics department on Friday (August 16), that caused the hand drawn The Aussie Yield Curve to go to air, aptly attributing the source to “me”?

Allan Gibson, Cherrybrook

Reality check

We were incredibly excited to see former ABC news reader Ian “Hendo” Henderson on Catalyst (13/08), but what a load of elitist crap that was. Fine if you owned as many delightful seaside houses he and his family do, to attempt to wind the body clock back and age better, play golf, etc. Show us how we, Australians earning a low salary and looking after our parents on the pension can live a better way. The ABC needs a seriously hard look at the shows it’s producing and presenting to its audience. You’ve lost touch with we the people.

Holly Harris, Mount Martha

Verbal answers needed

Would someone please tell Andrew O’Keefe that not all people who watch The Chase are fully sighted and to at least let the unsighted viewers know what the answer is. My sister is blind and gets very frustrated when he doesn’t always mention which was the correct answer.

Amanda Genovese, Bentleigh

Miriam dead-on

Miriam Margoyles can be irritating, self-centred, and grumpy, but her fearless, no holds barred approach in Miriam's Deathly Adventure makes for great viewing. She handles the taboo subject of death with great delicacy, and not just a little scepticism, when interviewing those who would have her believe in eternal life. She is the great unbeliever, and this is wonderfully refreshing to a cynic like me.

Helen Scheller, Benalla

Karvelas a winner

While we await the arrival of David Speers to helm Insiders after the departure of Barrie Cassidy, maybe it would be wise to take heed of recent AFL happenings. The concept of “caretaker coach” has thrown up some very popular and successful replacements from the pool of talent already available. Why go looking for big names and high-priced options when you already have tried and true performers ready to fulfil the role? Patricia Karvelas has shown herself to be a prime example of this over the last couple of weeks and would be a worthy successor to Cassidy.

John Paine, Kew East

Fish out of water

Todd Woodbridge is trying hard to anchor Channel Nine's cricket coverage. Crikey, what next? Bill Lawry hosting Wimbledon?

David Price, Camberwell

Pose has no peer

Pose is hands down the best television show. It tangles intricate and well-written narratives with extravagant ballroom scenes and unexpected ways to communicate plot. That is partially due to the diversity of the cast and crew – it has the largest cast of trans women ever for a TV show. I just wish that it didn’t air exclusively on pay TV. Everyone deserves to get a history lesson in the bright, bold world of queer New York in the ’80s.

Flynn Gilder, Northcote

Top marks for The Hunting

Full marks, SBS, for the uncomfortable, riveting, intelligently scripted and acted The Hunting. Best Australian TV drama in years.

Shirley Clifford, Glen Waverley

Praise for Ashes commentary

A big thank you to the ABC for broadcasting the test cricket from England with the BBC's Test Match Special team. It is highly entertaining to hear Agnew, Boycott, Mitchell and our own representatives, Jim Maxwell, Glenn McGrath and Mitchell Johnson. Continue the great work.

Greig Morris, Essendon

Weather entrance

First, we had Jane Bunn arriving late on set every night and having to scuttle across from stage-right to stage-left to deliver the weather. Now she arrives on time at stage-left but walks towards us. Meanwhile, on Nine the weather presenters have moved from Peter Hitchener’s left to his right, where they promptly scuttle across in front of the weather map – and back again. Is this some sort of fitness regimen?

Alex Risk, Geelong West

Too much oxygen

On August 15 we witnessed tennis player Nick Kyrgios appear to spit at the umpire during the sport segment on Nine News. Tony Jones stated he was disgusted at the behaviour of this player. Why then present anything that this bloke does in future?

Will Taylor and Harriet Finch KISS as their relationship takes a dramatic u-turn in Emmerdale

SWORN enemies or star-crossed lovers, is it possible to be both? The complicated relationship between Will Taylor and Harriet Finch took yet another U-turn in last night's episode of Emmerdale.

The former lovers – or rather, the undercover cop and her ex target – shared a passionate kiss after Will’s daughter, Dawn, played matchmaker for them on the ITV soap.

So does this mean that they’re officially back on?

Will and Harriet first got together when Dawn was just a child – with Will thinking the now village vicar was a call centre worker called Michelle.

But she was actually an undercover cop who was working on a long-term sting – Will was a known drug dealer and Harriet posed as his girlfriend, Michelle, for five years.

And when she eventually had enough evidence to send him down, Will was arrested and sent to prison for several years.

The convict didn’t know that Harriet had stitched him up until she testified against him in court.

With Will in prison, his daughter Dawn was sent into care and her life spiralled out of control as she turned to drugs and prostitution.

Her dad didn’t take the betrayal well either and when he was released from prison, he sought Harriet out to exact his revenge on her.

Will faked his death before arriving in the village and began a horrific terror campaign against Harriet.

He also mugged her, stalked her, and tried to kill her with a coffin lid  before realising there was still a spark between them.

A grown-up Dawn was horrified by the idea of the pair rekindling their romance at first but has since come round to the idea of her dad and her former kind-of step-mum being a thing.

So all is looking rosy for Harriet and Will. For now.

There’s sure to be a fly in the ointment at some point in the future though and some Emmerdale fans are predicting it could come in the form of Cain Dingle.

Cain’s wife, Moira, is having a steamy fling with her hunky farmhand Nate Robsinson and viewers think the village mechanic could turn to ex-lover Harriet when he discovers the affair.

One fan tweeted: "Cain and Harriett getting cosy again will he cheat on moira? #Emmerdale".
