This week I traveled wearing a pair of leggings, a sweatshirt from my alma mater, and mismatched socks that I shamefully had to expose to TSA agents while going through security. This week, Jessica Simpson traveled in a monochromatic outfit reminiscent of Penny Lane in “Almost Famous”, proving not all heroes wear capes — some board jets in Saint Laurent platform booties, instead.
While on tour promoting her new memoir, Open Book, Simpson has been stepping out all across the country in some very good outfits. So much so that her tour wardrobe has its own designated hashtag at #OpenBookLOOKS, where you can see appreciate them in all their curated glory. And yes, that hot pink Saks Potts look may have captured our hearts, but the hero piece worthy of a confident “take my money"? Her recent airport outfit choice of a Frame High/Low Cashmere Sweater, which you can get on Nordstrom right now.

Designed by the same celebrity-loved denim brand worn by the likes of Selena Gomez, Chrissy Teigen, and Kourtney Kardashian, the camel-hued cashmere sweater evokes a feeling I’d like to refer to as sweater envy. Of course it’s cute, but it also looks super comfortable and I imagine an ideal version of myself would wear it while curled up on a chaise lounge, sipping tea, and reading classic literature. It’s like FOMO, but instead it’s a fear of missing out on comfort and a better version of self.
What’s more, the supersoft sweater is made from sustainable cashmere re-spun from vintage garments and factory scraps sourced in Northern Italy. The process both reduces waste and energy, while preserving the integrity of the Mongolian grasslands (the source of most first-cycle cashmere). Environmentally friendly fashion! We love to see it.
On sale at a little over $300, Simpson’s cashmere sweater of choice may fall more in line with an investment piece price point, but it’s one purchase you’ll surely get your money’s worth from. Even our style North Star, Katie Holmes, is known to wear her go-to knit on repeat, proving a really good sweater is a staple you simply can’t go wrong with.
