If there’s one make-up trend that never goes out of fashion, it’s good skin – which is where the best foundations come into play. Whether you favour a barely-there dewy base or a full coverage finish, foundation is a quick step to instantly better looking skin.
One of the newest foundations to hit the shelves is Sleek MakeUP In Your Tone Foundation, usually £9.99 but currently on sale for £7.49 here until 15 April. Available in 30 shades and with a medium coverage, it promises to give a “true-to-skin” look that stays humidity-, sweat- and smudge-proof for up to 24 hours.
This new foundation is even being compared to a much pricier face base. The Sun is calling it a “perfect dupe” for Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Sublime Finish Foundation for its similarly skin-like finish. This high end version is a favourite with beauty editors and make-up artists and a regular on red carpets and film sets such as Bridgerton – but at £60, it’s more than six times the RRP of this Sleek one.
Keen to try it out, our writer Adejumoke Ilori shares her honest thoughts on the Sleek MakeUP In Your Tone Foundation…
“After years of struggling to find base products that suit my skin tone, I was excited to try this new Sleek MakeUP foundation. I was sent the shade 11C – and I can honestly say that I feel like I have finally found the perfect face base.
“I started by applying the product onto my face using my fingertips, then finished by buffing in with a make-up brush. Immediately I noticed that the coverage was amazing – it really covered up my acne scars and blurred out any skin imperfections, yet still gave my face a natural looking finish.
“I also have oily skin and this foundation manages the shine nicely, yet still feels hydrating and comfortable on the skin. Sometimes I find that medium or full coverage foundations feel like thick icing sitting on my skin, but this gave me the long-lasting yet weightless coverage that I was looking for, hiding blemishes and giving me a smooth, soft finish that stayed put all day long. It’s a new favourite for me.”
