Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 39, and Prince William, 38, rarely attend royal events with their three children in tow. But whenever the Cambridge family do step out en masse fans delight in seeing Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two.

Kate is often occupied by caring for her youngest Louis who still needs a bit more help than his older siblings George and Charlotte.

Since his birth on April 23, 2018, Louis has dazzled fans with his cheeky demeanour and adorable smile.

From his memorable Trooping the Colour debut on the balcony at Buckingham Palace in 2019, to stealing the show in the Cambridges latest Christmas card photo, the youngster has become a fan favourite.

And these five pictures sum up Kate and Louis’s sweet bond.

Trooping the Colour – 2019

Prince Louis melted hearts when he made his Trooping the Colour debut in 2019.

The cheeky young prince looked delighted as he waved to fans from his mother’s arms.

Kate and William took turns to hold Louis who at one point during the event he had Kate in hysterics as she looked over at him.

Polo match – 2019

Kate was captured holding little Louis in the crook of her arm at a charity polo match in July 2019.

The Duchess attend the game with all three of her children to cheer Prince William on.

During the first lockdown, the Cambridges came out on their doorstep at Anmer Hall to show their support for the NHS and clap for carers.

Kate’s had a huge grin on her face as she held her youngest close.

On the red carpet – 2020

Kate held on tight to little Louis hand as they walked up the red carpet last December.

The adorable photograph was taken during a family trip to the pantomime at London’s Palladium theatre.

The usually confident young Prince looked a little nervous and he clung on tight to Kate’s hands and walked beside his siblings.

Christmas card – 2020

The Cambridges released their adorable Christmas card to the public in December.

The sweet family photo shows the family perched in front of a huge woodpile as they all smile at the camera.

Little Louis is slap bang in the centre of the photo and is being held onto by mum Kate.

The young royal appears to be in a fit of giggles as he grins at the camera.

Body language expert and author Judi James analysed recent photos of Prince Louis and Kate ahead of Christmas and told Express.co.uk: “Louis was a very happy-looking baby and he seems to be a very happy, confident child.”

“As the youngest of three, he will feel that he has four full-time minders in his parents and his siblings and, with the closeness of lock-down he should feel super-protected in this family dynamic.”

“He clearly makes the others laugh, especially Kate, who has always seemed closely bonded with her youngest son.

“Despite being the smallest child there are clues in Kate and William’s body language that he might not just be confident but also the least likely to cause a fuss.

“They don’t appear to need to keep checking Louis as long as he is close to the group.”
