Jeremy Clarkson, 60, began his television career in 1988 when he landed his presenting role on Top Gear. Now with a successful career in the industry and multiple books, how much has he earned?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Jeremy Clarkson is worth a whopping £44million. 

Jeremy attended private school from a young age after his family were licensed the rights to Paddington Bear. 

After moving between schools, Jeremy went to Repton School which he attended at the same time as the former Top Gear Executive Producer Andy Wilman. 

After being expelled, he later trained as a journalist with the Rotherham Advertiser, before also writing for the Rochdale Observer, Wolverhampton Express and Star, Lincolnshire Life, Shropshire Star and the Associated Kent Newspapers.

In 1984, the presenter formed the Motoring Press Agency in which he and follow motoring journalist Jonathan Gill, conducted road tests for local newspapers and automotive magazines.

This developed into articles for publications such as Performance Car and he has also wrote regularly for Top Gear magazine since it launched in 1993.

To this day, Jeremy still writes regular columns in The Sun and The Sunday Times. 

After landing his television role for Top Gear from 1988, Jeremy, along with co-presenters James May and Richard Hammond, turned Top Gear into the most-watched show on BBC Two, rebroadcasting to over 100 countries around the world.

He also has his own company, Bedder 6, which handled the merchandise and international distribution for Top Gear.

The company reportedly turned over £149million in revenue in 2012.

In 2015, Jeremy announced that he would be presenting a new show on Amazon Video along with James May and Richard Hammond, called The Grand Tour.

The show sees the three car lovers in different locations of the world each week. 

The businessman also presented the first series UK version of Robot Wars which comprised 27 half-hour episodes.

Jeremy had guest interviews with musicians, politicians and television personalities. 

The journalist has added to his fortune by writing several books about cars and other subjects.

The presenter added to his bank balance by taking up a new presenting role with ITV.

He has been presenting ITV’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? for two years after it was announced the series would go through a revamp.

In his personal life, Jeremy married Alex Hall in 1989 before divorcing months later.

He then married his manager, Frances Cain, and the couple had three children together before divorcing in 2014.

As well as his television appearances, the businessman has an interest in properties and bought a 312 acre site in 2012 for £4.25 million.

After blowing up his farmhouse in a stunt for The Grand Tour, Jeremy began restructuring it last year. 

The new series of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? airs tonight at 8pm on ITV.
