DEAR DEIDRE: SINCE my first serious relationship broke up two years ago, I find myself getting attached to boys too quickly.
I’m 19 and whenever I chat to a guy online or meet someone, I fall for them fast.
I get jealous if they talk to another girl and I imagine what it would be like to be together. Then they back off.
Now I’ve met someone I like and am scared it’ll happen again. How can I stop myself doing this?
DEIDRE SAYS: Being in a relationship is great as long as it’s right – and that takes time to establish.
If you’re too keen, it will scare off a potential partner. Get to know this new guy slowly, so the relationship develops naturally.
Make sure you keep busy with other interests and friends so you don’t focus on him too much.
