Fred Perry and Nicholas Daley’s ongoing co-releases continue this season, as the duo reconnect to further pay homage to the British Southern soul boy scene of the 1970s.
Taking inspiration from pioneers of funk, soul and jazz, both labels honor the various subcultures which have existed within Britain, and begin to explore their intertwined connection with music and fashion.
Cultural icons like Isaac Hayes, Lonnie Liston Smith and Earth, Wind & Fire are referenced with various styles like the two-pocket polo and short-sleeved overshirt, which are realised in warming hues like “Milky Blue”, “Cabernet” and “Roasted Pecan”, as well as ecru and navy.
To accompany the collection, London-based artist Gaurab Thakali has created a selection of works that have been featured through chain stitch embroidered details across the capsule.
The collection is set to drop on April 14 and will be available via the Fred Perry webstore.
