Tom Felton reassures fans he is ‘on the mend’ after ‘scary’ golf course collapse

Harry Potter actor Tom Felton has taken to Instagram to share a video with his 10.9 million followers to let them know he is “on the mend” following a “scary" collapse on a golf course earlier this week.

Tom, 34, who played love-to-hate character Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, shared a video which begins with him playing the guitar.

He then speaks to fans, he said: “Hello everyone, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the lovely well-wishers as of recent.

"A bit of a scary episode really but I’m on the mend, people have been taking really good care of me."

He continued: "So thank you to anyone that has sent messages of get well soon because I am on the mend officially.

"And in case you were worried…” and he breaks into song with “don’t you worry cos Tom is doing fine.”

He ends the video saying: “I’ve got to go now” and blows a kiss to camera as he finishes: “thank you for all your help I’m on the road to recovery. So thanks to everyone that’s helped me out. Time to go and watch some Ryder Cup action! Love you.”

The actor captioned the post: “Feeling better by the day xx.”

Celebrities flocked to the post to send Tom their best wishes.

American filmmaker Kyle Newman shared this message for Tom: “Glad to hear it brother” and sent another message with a red heart emoji.

Skins actor Sebastian de Souza said: “Love you my brother” followed by a red heart emoji.

American actress Candice Patton wrote: “Love you so much” followed by a red heart emoji.

Tom was rushed to hospital after collapsing while taking part in a celebrity golf tournament on Thursday.


Happening just a day after his 34th birthday, the incident took place as Tom concluded his 18th hole at the 2021 Ryder Cup grounds – Whistling Straits, Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Pictures on the day showed Tom surrounded by onlookers before being transported away from the green on a small cart.

Addressing the incident, the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) confirmed the Harry Potter actor was being evaluated further.

They said in an official statement: "In today's Ryder Cup Celebrity Match, actor and musician Tom Felton experienced a medical incident on the course while participating for Europe.

"He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No further details are available."
