The Superstition hitmaker announced the news in front of a huge crowd before wrapping up his set.
Stevie said he had a donor and would perform a couple more shows before he take a break for the kidney procedure in September.
He told his fans: ”I’m all good, I’m all good, all good, I have a donor and it’s all good.”
Stevie added: “I want you to know, I came here to give you my love and thank you for your love.
“I love you and God bless you.”
He said he wanted to tell his fans first, before rumours about his health circulated.
The crowd greeted the news with a loud cheer and huge applause, before he sang Superstition.
According to the NHS, the most common reason for needed a transplant is kidney failure or end-stage chronic kidney disease
