Ruth Langsford teases her QVC show and fashion range

Ruth Langsford, 60, is best known for appearing alongside her husband Eamonn Holmes on This Morning. Tonight Ruth appeared on shopping and retail channel QVC as she launched a new item as part of her fashion collection. The host also shared the quick nail fix she was forced to sort out herself prior to taking to the screen.

Ruth shared with her 988,000 followers on Instagram how she had to touch up her gel nails before going on-air, as nail salons are closed due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Showing her nails on her Instagram Stories, she said: “I’ve got half my original gel nails that have grown out and then I have put this perfect formula pink gel coat over the top.

“Now I’m going to paint them in this kind of pinky nude colour wish me luck.”

In a second video, the presenter returned as she displayed her nails after her retouch.

She continued: “It’s not great, but it is just a disguise job really…

“It’s just a disguise job think I will get away with that from a distance.”

The This Morning star also shared her appearance on the channel on her Instagram feed as she unveiled a snake print bomber jacket.

She wrote: “Back with @officialjackiekabler on @qvcuk tonight and I’m excited to introduce you to my new Snakeprint bomber jacket! Hope you can join us at 7pm #ruthlangsfordfashion.”

The collection includes a variety of different styles, from dresses to denim jackets, with Ruth having previously spoken of why she chose to create the clothing line.

While talking to HELLO!, Ruth spoke of how she wanted “women of a certain age” to not feel “invisible.”

She explained: “Women of a certain age start saying that they feel invisible, and that no one is really doing things for us.

“I think they feel that you’re investing in them and that you’re thinking about them.

“I didn’t go looking for this. I didn’t ever think of myself as any kind of fashionista or designer.”

She added: “I just liked clothes. I liked fashion to my own level.

“And so when my agent said that QVC would like to talk to me about possibly doing a clothing range with them, I was like ‘wow!’ I practically ran to that meeting. I was so excited.”

Amid the clothing lines’ release in 2017, Ruth opened up to Woman Magazine on her past struggles with finding clothes she liked.

She explained: “I’ve always thought about the issues I’ve had while shopping for myself and not being able to find things that I want to wear.

“As I’ve got older, I know what I like.

“I know what suits me, so I like to go into a shop and go yes, I like that.

“All the things that I struggle with when trying to find clothes, I know other women struggle with, so I hope with my range, I am able to address the problems.”
