Presidential kids who live insanely lavish lives

Presidential kids who live insanely lavish lives

Being one of the presidential kids often comes with a fair amount of responsibility and pressure. There’s the stress of representing the country and the anxiety that comes with knowing that the media is watching your every move. But being a part of the first family can also come with some great perks, which is why presidential kids often live such insanely lavish lives.

When living in the White House, presidential children have gorgeous stately events to attend, celebrities to meet, and luxurious and exciting trips to enjoy, and, of course, they get to live in luxury in a beautiful mansion. But it doesn’t end there. Even after presidential kids leave the White House, they often live like kings and queens in fabulous homes, enjoying the fame and celebrity that come with being one of the lucky few first children. Here are some of those presidential kids who are enjoying some seriously lavish lives.

Presidential kid Tiffany Trump is one of the "rich kids of Instagram"

As one of the “rich kids of Instagram,” as noted by Town and Country, presidential kid Tiffany Trump has filled her social media with photos of herself hanging out at Mar-a-Lago, relaxing by the pool, and partying with friends. She’s known for wearing expensive custom-made designer labels, such as British designer Suzie Turner and Chinese designer Taoray Wang.

The youngest Trump daughter, who was named after the jewelry store Tiffany & Co., grew up in the lap of luxury, splitting her time between her father’s New York home and Mar-a-Lago, then later living at her mother’s home in California, where she attended private school in Calabasas, according to Business Insider.

As of early 2020, she’s been attending Georgetown Law, but she isn’t confining herself to the library. She’s been seen at luxurious White House events and parties, and has been traveling. Since 2018, she’s been dating Lebanese “billionaire heir” Michael Charbel Boulos (via New York Daily News), and the pair have been spotted at the exclusive restaurant Mosimann’s Restaurant in London and at a Taoray Wang show during New York Fashion Week (via Emirates Woman). She even went to Serbia in 2019 in a lavish trip that cost American taxpayers at least $23,000, as reported by Quartz

Jenna Bush Hager went from first daughter to morning show host

The Bush twins were staples in the media when their father, George W. Bush, was in office. They were known for their fabulous life living in the White House and making stately appearances. Then, as college students, they were able to let loose, though they were depicted as wild party-goers with headlines like “Jenna and Tonic” in The New York Post and “Busted Again in Margaritaville” in Newsweek, as reported by The New York Times. Still, there’s so much more to them than their time in college, and they’ve moved far beyond their dorm days to lavish, grown-up lives.

In 2008, Jenna Bush Hager married investment firm director Henry Hager in a lavish ceremony in front of 200 people where she wore an Oscar de la Renta gown (via InStyle). The wedding took place on her family’s private ranch in Crawford, Texas, as reported by Good Housekeeping. Not too shabby.

Bush Hager went on to land a role as a cohost on the Today show where she enjoys her own fame and fans, beyond her notoriety as first daughter. She now lives in a stylish home in Long Island, as reported by Veranda, with plenty of room for her family, plus a large pool and yard. Her home is cozy yet luxurious, with velvet upholstery and an updated kitchen with modern appliances and a large farmhouse sink. It’s not the White House, but it sure is fabulous.

Ivanka Trump was raised like a princess

Ivanka Trump’s life was lavish long before her father became president. She rose to the public eye as a model and as a boardroom judge on Donald Trump’s show The Apprentice (via Business Insider). Later on, she created her own fashion brand in 2014, as noted by The Atlantic, and even wrote the books The Trump Card and Women Who Work (via The New Yorker), quickly going from heiress to businesswoman.

And while she may have created an image around working hard, the presidential kid also plays hard, with a luxurious lifestyle fit for a princess. In 2009, Trump married real estate mogul Jared Kushner in a wedding which cost at least an estimated $1 million, according to Cheat Sheet. Soon after, she and Kushner started raising their family in an apartment in New York, where they styled their home with luxury furnishings from Lindsey Adelman and Mies van der Rohe (via Agricultural Digest). Then, in 2017, the family moved into a 8,200-square-foot house in the elite Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C., which they reportedly rented for $15,000 a month, per The Wall Street Journal.

Ivanka Trump still wears stylish (and pricy) designer brand clothing, such as a $3,680 Oscar de la Renta ensemble and a $12,888 Rodarte gown (via Insider). She also shows off a luxurious lifestyle on social media, taking her kids on Air Force One and traveling around the world for work and pleasure.

Presidential kid Barbara Bush had not one but two fabulous weddings

The other half of the Bush twin duo is Jenna Bush Hager’s sister, Barbara Bush. Like Jenna, Bush got some bad press for underage drinking in her college years (via The New York Times). And while bad press may be a big blow, growing up as the daughter and granddaughter of presidents can have its perks. Bush grew up living in the Governor’s mansion in Austin before then upgrading to the White House. She reaped the benefits of fame and wealth that comes with being a part of the first family, such as having Secret Service detail, getting to fully decorate one’s own room, and living in that stately mansion.

These days, Barbara Bush is globe trotting and working with charities, according to an interview with Elle. In 2018, the presidential kid married screenwriter Craig Coyne in an intimate ceremony at her family’s compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, Business Insider reported. She wore an elegant Vera Wang gown. Apparently, she and Coyne loved the experience of their wedding so much that they had a second wedding celebration at her family’s ranch in Texas, per Town and Country. Nothing says “lavish” like having two weddings!

Presidential kid Barron Trump lives in White House luxury

As the youngest Trump child, presidential kid Barron Trump grew up always surrounded by fame and money.

Barron Trump and his mother, Melania Trump, made headlines when they didn’t move into the White House until nearly five months after Donald Trump was inaugurated, as reported by Time, and who could blame them? The Trump family home, located on Fifth Avenue in New York City, is valued at $100 million. The apartment consists of three stories and is decorated with 24-karat gold and marble detailing, according to Travel and Leisure. Plus, according to Redbook, Barron has one floor all to himself.

However, once Barron moved into the White House, his lifestyle wasn’t exactly downgraded. According to Inquisitor, the White House is filled with a staff of 100 people caring for the Trumps’ needs. They even fill the first son’s personal quarters with all his favorite products, like his go-to toothpaste and shampoo.

But Barron’s living arrangements are not the only thing luxe about his life. His mother started rubbing caviar cream on his face as a young child, according to ABC News. “I put it on him from head to toe,” she said. “He likes it!” Yeah, his life certainly sounds luxurious.

Chelsea Clinton lives in a shockingly lavish $10 million apartment

Chelsea Clinton enjoyed all the perks of being the first daughter back in the ’90s. It was such a lavish way to grow up that it almost made up for the pesky media following her around. Understandably, she got used to the lifestyle she led in the White House, and, luckily for her, that luxury carried over to her life post-presidency.

In 2010, Clinton married hedgefund manager Marc Mezvinsky in a gorgeous wedding where she wore not one, but two Vera Wang gowns, as reported by Today. The wedding took place in a 13,000-square-foot mansion that’s “supposed to evoke Versailles,” according to USA Today. A few years after marrying, Clinton and Mezvinsky moved into a $10 million New York City apartment, as reported by the Daily Mail. The apartment, which stretches an entire block, has been described as “a luxury fortress.” The four-bedroom, 5,000-square-foot apartment is a big upgrade from their previous (comparatively inexpensive) $4 million home.

Presidential kid Sasha Obama has a better room than her father

Once the Bush twins handed off first-child duties to Sasha and Malia Obama, the Obama sisters started enjoying all the parks of living in the White House, such as having a staff to help with daily needs, the opportunity to attend glitzy White House events, and the chance to dance with celebrities like Prince. But perhaps we can guess that one of Sasha’s favorite perks of being first daughter was meeting Ryan Reynolds — as sister Malia once gave her an encouraging thumbs-up upon meeting him (via Seventeen).

And while moving out of the mansion at the end of President Barack Obama’s term may have been difficult, Sasha Obama probably wasn’t missing the presidential digs when her family bought their 8,200-square-foot home in Washington, D.C. While living in this gorgeous residence must already be a dream, mom Michelle Obama revealed in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that Sasha got the best room in the house: “Sasha actually killed in this house. She has this two-room suite, it’s all decked out. She has like a living room area and a bedroom.”

Apparently, Sasha even got a better deal than the former president himself. “He’s got the smallest room for his office,” Michelle explained. “So he’s really hating on [Sasha].” Clearly, it’s nice to be one of the president’s kids — and the baby of the family.

Caroline Kennedy still gets all the perks of being a presidential kid

Caroline Kennedy has been an American darling since the ’60s, and she lives like it. Back when her father, John F. Kennedy, was president, she enjoyed her time playing on a private White House playground and even rode her pony, Macaroni, on the White House lawn.

But her life only got more lavish once she left the White House. The presidential kid vacationed with her family in Greece, and they sailed around the Caribbean on their private yacht, as reported by Biography. Then, as a teenager, the young Kennedy stayed in London and was often spotted out with socialite Mark Shand (the brother of Camilla Parker-Bowles), according to Vanity Fair. Finally, in 1986, she married Edwin Schlossberg in a lavish, Kennedy-worthy Cape Cod wedding.

Caroline Kennedy later became a diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to Japan in 2013. And while she may be known for living a private life with her family, she still gets some of the Kennedy perks. She got to enjoy late mother Jackie Kennedy Onassis’ massive Martha Vineyard estate, up until she put it on the market in 2019 for $65 million (via Town and Country). She reported that she and her three children treasured their time on the oceanfront property, which spans 340 acres and includes a luxurious five-bedroom home, complete with a tennis court, pool, boathouse, and private beach.

Donald Trump Jr. has so many lavish homes

While the Trump sisters enjoyed lavish lives of modeling and fashion, the Trump boys got into business at a young age. Donald Jr. was the first Trump child to join the family business, which apparently paid off. These days, Trump owns some serious real estate, according to Forbes. He has a 5,900-square-foot apartment in Manhattan, a cabin in upstate New York, and a share of a 17-acre hunting reserve with his brother Eric. And if that weren’t enough, he and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle purchased a luxurious $4.5 million home with seven bedrooms in Bridgehampton, N.Y., according to the Daily Mail.

Even though Donald Trump Jr. has plenty of properties to stay in while in New York, he’s been known to travel a lot for work and pleasure, reportedly racking up a large bill for American taxpayers. USA Today reported that, in February of 2017, the Secret Service spent $200,000 on airfare, hotel rooms, and other transportation when Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump went to the United Arab Emirates to open the Trump International Golf Club in Dubai. Another trip cost taxpayers nearly $100,000 in costs for Trump’s hotel rooms, airfare, and car rental, plus overtime costs for Secret Service agents, as The Washington Post reported. It makes one wonder what those hotel rooms are like. Trump Jr.’s life may be busy, but it’s certainly lavish.

Presidential kid Sasha Obama took a gap year like no one else

The Obama sisters have been known to enjoy (relatively) normal childhoods. At least, they weren’t given any special treatment by their parents. According to an interview with ABC News, Barack and Michelle Obama explained that the girls had to make their beds and clean their rooms while living in the White House. Michelle even claimed that the first thing she said to the White House staff was, “Don’t make their beds. Make mine.”

But being the eldest daughter of Barack Obama definitely comes with its perks. Malia Obama was taught how to drive by Secret Service agents, according to CNN, which is a pretty cool bragging right. This former first daughter started Harvard in 2017 after a busy gap year. In that year, she enjoyed a healthy mix of work and play, landing the opportunity to intern in the Weinstein Company’s New York City office while also making time to attend the Sundance Film Festival, join her parents on a ten-day trip to Indonesia, and party at the Lollapalooza music festival, as reported by Town and Country. That’s certainly not a gap year every high school grad can enjoy.

Now that Malia Obama is well into her college experience, she seems to be having a great time. She’s been seen traveling to New York City on the weekend and heading off to Miami with her mom for some fun.

Eric Trump is one presidential kid with a lavish life on Instagram

Middle children have gotten a bad reputation for being the “forgotten” kids in family lineups. Getting to be neither the mature older child nor the cute little one, being smack dab in the middle of 5 can be a hard place to grow up. Luckily for Eric Trump, he was born into the Trump family, where luxurious apartments and vacation homes are the norm for every member of the family.

Eric Trump and his wife, Lara, split their time between a three-bedroom condo in Trump Parc East, which the middle Trump son bought for just over $2 million, according to Business Insider, and a mansion in the exclusive community of Briarcliff Manor, where one of the Trump golf courses is located, as reported by Mercury News. But nice homes are not the only thing this Trump gets to enjoy. His wife is always posting photos of the couple’s lavish lifestyle on social media, including her personal training and family vacations to Aspen, Palm Beach, and Dubai. This fully-grown presidential kid may be the middle child, but he leads a luxurious life.
