Louise Redknapp has taken to her Instagram story to hit back at false claims that she and ex-husband Jamie Redknapp spent Christmas Day together.
The singer, 47, took to Instagram after false stories emerged that the former couple spent the holiday together, coupled with photos from last Christmas.
She wrote: ‘Several news outlets have run stories today saying I spent Christmas Day with Jamie.
‘I just wanted it to be known that this is false and that they have used Instagram story pictures and videos that I posted on Christmas Day December 2020.’
Louise added: ‘I didn’t want to say anything, but for all parties involved and both families I don’t think the media should get away with fabricating stories like this.’
The former Eternal star had posted the videos and photos of her and Jamie’s sons, Charlie, 17, and Beau, 13, opening presents together on Christmas Day last year.
Louise and Jamie, 48, were married for 19 years but have been divorced since December 2017, with Jamie marrying model Frida Andersson, 38, in October.
Jamie and Frida had welcomed their first child together, a son called Raphael, in November, with the former footballer sharing photos of his first Christmas on social media.
He revealed that ‘Santa’ had brought Raphael a personalised stocking full of presents with a ‘my first football’ toy seen hanging out of the top of it, joking: ‘Father Christmas knows…’
Louise had also been forced to hit back at a celebrity magazine’s claims she was in ‘despair’ that Jamie had started a family with his new wife.
She wrote at the start of December: ‘I try not to read or respond to these things but sometimes they are unavoidable. I’d really love to clarify that ‘Louise’ is not in despair or anything like it!!
‘I have my two gorgeous boys that I adore more than anything in the world, the best family around me and I’m having the time of my life with my career and with the most wonderful friends that a girl could hope for.
‘These stories are there to sell magazines but I’d like to make it clear that I’m in the most positive of headspaces and loving my life.’
She added: ‘Here’s to all the ladies out there that are in control of their lives and living their very best lives!’, before concluding: ‘Come on… women are better than this.’
