Ex Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton put his podcast on hold as his work schedule became a little overwhelming. The 38-year-old recently joined the cast of Singin’ In The Rain and had been putting his “time, energy and determination” into rehearsals and performing at his best.

The dancer today told listeners that he also had other projects in the pipeline and wasn’t willing to sacrifice quality time with girlfriend Stacey Dooley, 34.

Speaking to his sister Joanne Clifton on his new episode, he said: “When I’m working and working and working, I tend to end up staying up quite late just so I can have my own time.”

Kevin went on to say that no matter how busy he is, he always has to find time for himself otherwise he would “go nuts”.

Such a mindset came from when he was younger and took a break from revision during exams to play games, which made his focus better.

Explaining his thought process, he added: “If I haven’t got any time on my own at the end of this, even just to hang out with Stace or whatever, I’m going to go nuts and I’ll hate it before I’ve even started.

“So I think what happened is, something had to give in terms of other projects I’ve got sizzling in the background.”

The dancer added that singing and dancing had been taking up his energy in recent weeks, but said he loved to do it.

“Something had to give and it wasn’t going to be my hour that I get to watch Netflix with Stace,” he echoed.

“So I think the idea of doing all this work, work, work until I’m absolutely exhausted, and then going, ‘Now I need to record my podcast’ before I go to bed, it became like, ‘Argh’.

“Subconsciously, it becomes panicky for me.”

Kevin went on to tell listeners he now had a less busy schedule, so could dedicate more time to his podcast.

The dancer shared news about him being back on his show on Instagram.
