EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, who plays loveable Jay Brown in the hit BBC soap, has been spotted with a mystery woman on a night out in London that has sparked romance rumours.

Jamie, 27, was pictured leaving Frankie Bridge’s book launch event for GROW and he was snapped alongside a mystery woman.

The actor appeared shy in front of the camera on Thursday as he left the venue with his head down but had a cheeky smile on his face.

The EastEnders favourite was casually dressed in skinny navy jeans and a navy t-shirt with white stripes and he paired the look with white trainers.

The mystery woman seen leaving with Jamie looked smart in a black halterneck top which she wore with black flared trousers. She finished the look with a tweed blazer that was draped over her shoulders.

OK! has contacted Jamie’s representatives for comment.

Jamie took to Instagram last year to give fans a peek inside his stunning home.

A keen music fan, the soap star played a very funky coloured guitar while posing in his sleek pad and a range of electric guitars could be seen sitting in the room against a white wall.

The star also has a very rustic woodburning stove sitting in the centre of his living room, and large glass doors show that the room faces a large pond with forest views to boot.

Reclining on his huge grey sofa, clad with vibrant green scatter cushions and a stylish throw, Jamie puts his feet up in one snap, while again playing an electric guitar.

Jamie has been in the soap world for most of his life, being just twelve when he was first cast in the show.

On EastEnders, Jay was an orphan at the age of 14 but he was taken in by the Mitchells, and quickly became a big part in the family.

And some years on from when he joined EastEnders, Jamiefound out he was related to one of his co-stars.

The actor made the discovery after hearing that Hunter Owen would be portrayed by Charlie Winter.

After making the connection that he had a great uncle with the same name, he then realised that the pair are actually second cousins.

He took the Instagram to share news with soap fans, saying: “My great uncle is called Charlie Winter, so when they said there was a kid coming in called Charlie Winter, I was like, 'Seriously?’”

Jamie then continued to tell his followers: "Turns out we are second cousins."
