Sharing their thoughts on Twitter following his speech introducing The Father, which is up for Best Drama/Motion Picture, some feared he’d been “kidnapped” or held against his will.

“Is Colin Farrell being held hostage to present this award? #GoldenGlobes,” one worried.

A second agreed: “Who kidnapped Colin Farrell?”

Someone else said: “Colin Farrell literally looks like he’s being held hostage and someone’s pointing a gun at him behind the screen.”

“What did they do to Colin Farrell?” a fourth demanded to know.

Others wondered whether he was OK, with one noting: “These Golden Globes are bizarre. Why did Colin Farrell look so frightened?”

Another added: “I need a full article breaking down Colin Farrell’s Globes appearance.”

“OK, I saw Colin Farrell, time to turn off the Golden Globes. I get enough Zoom awkwardness during the work week,” someone else wrote.

A fourth pointed out: “So much weird energy.”

Unlike other presenters, Colin opted for a black tie tuxe, sporting a freshly almost-shaven head.
