Coleen Rooney reveals fake Instagram Stories she used to accuse Rebekah Vardy

Coleen Rooney has revealed the fake Instagram Stories she used to accuse Rebekah Vardy of selling stories about her in the Wagatha Christie scandal as she lays out her defence.

The two WAGs have been embroiled in a fierce feud after Coleen accused Rebekah of selling stories on her in an infamous post – allegations which Jamie Vardy’s wife has strongly denied.

Coleen, 34, said that she had made up false stories in a bid to confirm suspicions about her former friend, and referenced them in posts, which she shared on Instagram only to Rebekah’s account.

She reported her findings in an infamous post on Instagram, which ended with the phrase ‘It’s…….Rebekah Vardy’s account.’

Rebekah, 38, has denied the claims, and has vowed to ‘clear her name’ in the upcoming libel case.

Now, Coleen has revealed the Instagram Stories she posted, which she claims resulted in false stories in the press about her going to Mexico to look into gender selection, and about the Rooneys’ basement at their £20 million home being flooded.

One shows a photo of an aeroplane seat, with Coleen writing: ‘Let’s go and see what this gender selection is all about.’

Another claimed she was getting some TV work, making reference to Australia, while a third pictured a bottle of wine with the caption: ‘Needed after today…flood in the basement of our new house.’

According to the MailOnline, Coleen has laid out her defence in detail in a 55-page report.

The site reports that the document states: ‘The unauthorised disclosure of private material from the Defendant’s private Instagram account was deeply distressing to the Defendant. The Defendant was left not knowing who to trust.’

The report is also thought to lay out the lengths Coleen went to in order to find out who was selling stories on her and, she claims, proves no one other than Rebekah could have passed on the stories to the press.

A spokesperson for Coleen said of the document: ‘Coleen has always been confident of her position, although she takes no pleasure in now having to set out in public court documents the reasons why.

‘It remains a matter of deep regret to her that Rebekah seems determined to persist with court action despite Coleen’s offers of private mediation. Coleen believes the money being spent could be put to much better use in these times.’

Coleen’s attorney added to the publication: ‘We confirm our client, Coleen Rooney has now filed her defence to the High Court to proceedings which Rebekah has chosen to bring.

‘Coleen’s defence makes clear why, from the outset, she has been entirely confident in her position. She remains surprised and disappointed at Mrs Vardy’s decision to initiate these proceedings and to continue to pursue these matters through the courts […]

‘The Claimant [Vardy] acted in this way for the purposes of promoting herself and/or financially exploiting her public profile, particularly as the partner of the well-known footballer, Jamie Vardy.’

Coleen reportedly accuses her former friend of having an ongoing relationship with journalists, of being The Sun’s ‘secret WAG’, and consistently leaking stories to the press.

Rebekah has vowed to clear her name, recently saying on Good Morning Britain: ‘We tried to sort things out amicably, it just didn’t work. I understand people think it’s ridiculous but what was I meant to do? I need to clear my name.

‘I want to clear my name and I will do whatever it takes and I hope that it will be resolved soon.’

Asked just how tough she has found the whole fallout, Rebekah said: ‘I find it really tough, but to be fair in comparison to what some people have gone through with Covid and things like that, it’s incomparable.’
