Charley Webb is best known for her role as Debbie Dingle on the popular long-running soap Emmerdale. As many celebrities celebrated Valentine’s, the actress admitted she and fellow Emmerdale star and husband Matthew Wolfenden prefer not to take part in the day of love.

Charley and Matthew have been together since 2007 having first met each other while working together on Emmerdale.

During their time together, the Emmerdale stars have since welcomed three children together including Buster, 10, Bowie, five, and Ace, one.

Talking ahead of their Valentine’s Day celebrations, Charley spoke of how the couple choose not to celebrate the day of love.

The mum of three explained: “I don’t like Valentine’s Day.

“I sound like the equivalent of Scrooge but we do little things for each other.

“Like Matthew will bring me a cup of tea or if he goes to the supermarket, he’ll get me my favourite chocolate.”

“Things like that is enough for me,” she added to OK! Magazine.

Matthew went on to joke: “Yesterday, I didn’t get her Mini Eggs and she kicked off!”

Charley and Matthew tied the knot in February 2018 although at the time chose to keep the ceremony secret.

Talking of why they chose to keep their celebrations low key, Charley spoke of how she didn’t want the “pressure” surrounding the big day.

While appearing on This Morning in 2019, she explained: “But [the surprise ceremony] just felt a good way to do it, because it took the pressure off of everybody asking me a million questions – ‘What’s your dress like? Who’s going to be your bridesmaid?’ – and I didn’t want any of that.

“The attention is also too much. It just felt like a lot of attention.”

The couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary together earlier this week.

At the time, Charley shared a funny post to her Instagram Stories as she compared her expectation vs reality of their relationship.

She began by sharing a sweet couple picture of the pair enjoying a glass of red wine together.

The reality snap saw Charley and Matthew at opposite sides of the room as they both had a cup of tea.

Writing alongside the post, she added: “Happy 3rd Wedding Anniversary. Instagram Vs Reality.”
